If you are from a developed country trying to date in a developing country with a local:

If you are from a developing country trying to date in a developed country with a local:
- People will treat you with skepticism.
- They might think you're interested in them because of visas.
- More often than not, you will be treated as a casual date even if you made it clear you want something serious.
Generally speaking, if your date is a local citizen and you're not...

- Are you only dating them because of visas?
- Will they have to sponsor you if the relationship goes any further?
Even if for some magical reason they don't think it, their family does. Some of their friends probably do, too.
Compared to dating another local citizen, these are extra things that your dates will have to get over with if you are looking for serious relationships.
It's not uncommon for people to get hung up on these, and then they move on to the next person.
But, don't get too discouraged.
As they say... Love finds a way.
